Hi, circle of friends who support me in my writing enterprises.
Several of you have Beyond the Gate and are reading. Here’s what could really help me if you can do it by tomorrow: Comment below on the book so that i can have feedback to share on the update i will send to my 500 email subscribers on Thursday with the subject line, What Readers Are Saying about Beyond the Gate.
Two responses already:
Joe says: I have read the first nineteen chapters and am intrigued, captured by the story-line–a clear focused plot with Jessie at the center. I was quickly brought into this drama. Like the readable print. Like the space between chapters to indicate the next episode. Like the short chapters. Fascinating how Jessie is growing and changing step by step. Like the focus on the relationships between the four characters. It’s a good read that draws you back to it.
Jennifer says: Finished up Beyond the Gate last night. I can see your years of work on this Cristy, to create characters that could well be real people with real struggles. I am so glad you stayed with BTG and saw it through to a living book in your hand.
Please add another happy-faced comment for me to post. Frowny-faced responses will also be appreciated though they might not get posted.;)
Marketing for BTG will be modest with only two goals in mind: getting the word out to my readership and breaking financially even on the deal. I predict myself to be out of the writing business as the new year comes in–which i eagerly anticipate along with other hoped-for changes, like vaccine and president. Until then, your affirmation and support is as precious as ever. THANKS.
Here are some questions that might help you come up with a comment: Which character is your favorite and why–Jessie, Jakob, Roderick or Kelly? Would you describe it as a page turner and why? How/where do you identify with the plot and characters?
