Maybe you will… at least i take delight in the people and what they’re doing that you’ll see if you click on these links. And they might lift your day a little higher too:
I know Coffee through our time together at Jubilee Partners. Saturday we celebrated her hundredth birthday at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Athens. The 200 people gathered testified to her life, dedicated to peace and justice all over the globe. In this grand party, we glimpsed the life of the world to come, a world of love and joy and harmony, a world that counts all people as God’s precious children. Her stories and recollections will entertain you, i think, even if you’ve not had the pleasure of meeting her in person. My children and grandchildren have had that pleasure, and i want to make sure they hear her bright voice and share in the richness of her experiences. As you will see, Josina Guess, also from Jubilee, conducted the interviews.
Talented, oh my goodness! I am getting acquainted with this group of young musicians through my friend Marilyn McGinnis, also a volunteer at El Refugio Ministry. A few whiles back, Apartment Sessions visited people detained at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin and then recorded a music video at El Refugio house. I’m in the video! Amoeba-like, the group changes size and form from one video to the next and includes hangers-on like me. Marilyn’s son Luke is the musical director. He’s the one in the brown t-shirt in the production you’ll see by clicking on the link above, their rendition of A Brand New Day from The Wiz. These people are adding so much joy and fun and peace and beauty to the world. Here’s my second favorite number, and there are dozens more available online for your viewing and listening pleasure.
Honk–by which i mean COMMENT–if you enjoyed.
And welcome to my newest Follower. Thanks, JY! Who will be #44? Can you think of someone to recommend me to? Please?
